Chef Nadine Brings Hands-on Cooking Classes to Gateway

Chef Nadine Nelson of Global Local Gourmet will teach recreational cooking classes at Gateway Community College, beginning in March. Nelson specializes in cooking with local produce and artisanal products, with a global twist. Her hands-on cooking classes are designed for individuals, businesses, families and groups. Course offerings are suitable for both the novice and the culinary enthusiast, with each class focusing on specific techniques and a domestic or international cuisine.

No Recipes Required will meet one Wednesday per month. Dates are:

March 20, Caribbean & African Pantry
April 17, Japanese Pantry
May 15, Mexican Pantry
 

Tips & Techniques will meet one Thursday per month. Dates are:

March 21, I Eat Meat – Working with Protein
April 18, See Food – I Eat Seafood
May 16, Vegetarian Gourmet – Cooking Vegetables
 

Plate Your Mate will meet one Friday per month. Dates are:

March 22, Caribbean Spring Break
April 19, Under the Tuscan Sun
May 17, Karmic India
 

Classes run from from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. in room S116. The price for each class is $99. To register, contact Michelle Fraser at 203-285-2300 or 203-285-2082. Students should register by the week before the class begins (e.g., students in the March 20 class should register by March 13).

Chef Nadine Nelson has been sharing her culinary expertise with students of all ages for more than 10 years. She has lead her company to create interactive culinary teaching experiences for Harvard University, Yale University, the City of New Haven, Johnson and Johnson, and dignitaries and celebrities, to name a few.
