STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM MANUFACTURING TRAINING PROGRAM

WHAT:  Members of the media are invited to a graduation celebration for Skill Up for Manufacturing at Gateway Community College.  Skill Up is designed to quickly channel people into entry-level manufacturing jobs by providing the fundamentals that employers need.

               William T. Brown, Ph.D., Chief Executive Office, Gateway Community College

WHEN:  Friday, July 23 at 3:30 p.m. 

WHERE:  Gateway Community College, Room S211, 20 Church Street, New Haven, CT 06510.  Validated parking for the Temple Street Garage.

DETAILS:  Skill Up is a free five-week training program offering hybrid classroom and hands-on training.  Students receive a minimum of 175 pre-apprenticeship hours, Six Sigma Certification, OSHA 10 training, job development, and a cash stipend.  Skill Up is a program of Workforce Alliance and is funded through the Apprenticeship CT Initiative.
