Gateway Community College (GCC) named Erika Lynch, workforce development & continuing education coordinator, as Staff of the Year 2017. The award was presented by GCC’s Dean of Workforce Development & Continuing Education, Vicki Bozzuto, at the Awards Convocation held May 18.

Lynch started working for GCC in March 2006 as the Health Careers Advisor for the South Central Region of Connecticut. This position was the result of a collaboration between the local Workforce Investment Board (Workforce Alliance) and GCC. During the six years she held the position, Lynch provided a comprehensive outreach, testing and advisement program to assist individuals from a variety of backgrounds to better prepare for higher education programs in the health profession.

In March 2012 she was hired as the Workforce Development Coordinator for the college. In this position she manages the non-credit workforce related training programs, health and business careers. She also works on new program development as industries change and create new employment pathways.

Lynch previously worked at Yale-New Haven Health Systems Medical Call Center. She holds a bachelor's degree from Quinnipiac University in Health Management.
