Is Your Early Childhood Program Ready If Disaster Strikes?

Gateway Community College (GCC) is pleased to announce a new workshop being offered to examine preparedness planning for the early childhood community, to be held on March 14, 2018 from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the Library Multi-Purpose Room. The workshop will be presented by Deb Fils, program specialist at the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood-Division of Early Care and Education and co-chair of the CT Child Emergency Preparedness Committee, and will be co-sponsored by the Early Learning Center at GCC. 

Workshop participants will use information from the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA), including their guide “Is Your Child Care Program Ready?” as well as recommended preparedness standards for early childhood programs, to discuss emergency plans, explore resources, and identify communication strategies for working with families and community resources to ensure an enhanced level of preparedness that addresses the unique needs of children in an emergency.
