(New Haven, CT) September 9, 2014 –Gateway Community College (GCC) is pleased to announce a new Yale@Gateway speaker series which kicked off on September 15 with renowned economist, Robert J. Shiller, Sterling Professor of Economics, Department of Economics and Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics at Yale University and recipient of the 2013 Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences.

Shiller participated in an informal conversation on the topic:  Are we in a bubble? Why the stock market matters, and his latest book Finance and the Good Society. 

Paul Solman, best known for his work on PBS Newshour as a business, economics and occasional art correspondent, returned to Gateway Community College to moderates the series, which was co-created with GCC Business Professor Lorraine Li to expand opportunities for students at both institutions to gain a greater understanding of the role and relevance of economics in contemporary, everyday culture.
