Yale@Gateway Speaker Series Explores The Journey To Yale

Share

The Yale@Gateway Speaker Series at Gateway Community College (GCC), continues on Monday, March 30 with Yale University senior, George Ramirez, a South Bronx native who beat the odds and went to a double major (physics and history) at Yale. Ramirez will be interviewed by moderator, Paul Solman at 7:00 p.m. in GCC’s Community Room (N100). The Journey to Yale will feature a discussion about Ramirez’s modest beginnings and his experiences with  the KIPP—Knowledge is Power Program where he learned his philosophy for success, which he says starts with “delaying gratification and conceptualizing, and planning, for the future.”

Paul Solman, best known for his work on PBS Newshour as a business, economics and occasional art correspondent, returned to Gateway to moderates the series, which was co-created with GCC Business Professor Lorraine Li to expand opportunities for students at both institutions to gain a greater understanding of the role and relevance of economics in contemporary, everyday culture

The Yale@Gateway series is free and open to the public. For more information, contact GCC Business Professor Lorraine Li at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call (203) 285- 2285.
